Why We’re Here

Our mission is to exalt the Savior through passionate worship, equip the saints for Gospel ministry, and extend the Gospel to Belmar and the world.

What We Believe

We believe that God loved the world so much, He sent His only Son to redeem His own. It’s our desire to spread the Good News of Jesus to Belmar and the world. For more information about what we believe, click here.

Our History

Belmar Baptist Church was founded in 1970 by a small group of Christians who met on Belmar Avenue, passionate for a church driven by the truth of God’s Word.  On June 6, 1971 the church was constituted and it’s first pastor, James Madden, was ordained. In September 1973, the membership moved to its current location on Monroe Avenue. Construction began on a new sanctuary in 1975 and an annex in 1982. In December 1995, founding pastor James Madden retired after twenty-five years of faithfulness. The past 18 years are a testament to the perseverance of the faithful men and women of Belmar Baptist Church; the same gospel is preached at 4142 Monroe Avenue that was preached 40 years ago.
